Maybe I'm just an asshole but I think if you say "we" in reference to your favorite football team, you should be out on the field with them. Otherwise you're an asshole.

I represent Indianapolis, as do the Colts. Therefore 'we' are on the same side.

Saying "we" isn't necessairly a wrong statement. It's just easier to peice togther one's alligeance to his/her team that he/she cheers for. It's simply a statement that inquires they are the "13th" man in football terms, but I wouldn't expect either of you to know that..

If you were actually on the team, you can say 'we'. Otherwise it's plain old stupid. "Fans are one with the team". That's the biggest bullshit I've ever heard. Fans don't win games, players do.
