The reviewers have it in for Sixaxis. IGN gave it 4/10, simply because he didn't like the Sixaxis. Other reviewers gave similarly bad scores... because they hate Sixaxis.

However, there have been quite a few who have given LAIR a high score.

Looks like a cool game, that's for sure. Shows what next gen is capable of. Just I would be scared to buy it if people are having so much trouble.

Which is why one should not go off what reviewers say.

Sony are releasing a LAIR demo some time soon, apparently. When they do, I'll be downloading it and forming my own opinions. I might need to make a bit of space on the HDD, though. I've got 5gb of 55gb left!

It's not just Sixaxis. The motion control is the big goat, but the lack of a respectable lock-on system is a pretty giant leap in the wrong direction, too.

But, beyond that, why wouldn't a reviewer score the game poorly for horrid motion controls? Lots of third-party Wii games have gotten the shitty end of the score-stick from IGN, because the controls were crap. I'm sorry, but if you're designing a game around the notion of tilting the controller this way and that, it had better be perfect, otherwise you're gonna get a boot in the ass. If Factor 5 didn't want their review scores being overshadowed by the quality of the game's tilt control, they should have added an analog option. Simple as that.

And Lenny, I've played the game. The controls are bad. It's getting the scores it deserves.
