Well it's somewhat different to have been unexpected than to have been unwanted. It's like instead of your parents saying you weren't planned, they say they didn't want you and wish you hadn't been born in the first place.

Well, they didn't NEED to say that.

I'll rephrase it then. I was informed that I wasn't planned and later found out that I and my sister were the glue holding a loveless marriage together for many years.

My father wasn't exactly the ol' warm figure of paternal leadership, either. You'll probably get the same conclusion I did.
