Bah, I think that it is a choice that some people make. As it was said earlier on in this thread, you're a product of your environment Based on that, if you're in an environment that's going to foster it, you'll probably choose homosexuality. The other case is that you're just looking for something that will make you stand out and be different. Reason one, valid. Reason two, stupid as hell. Both involve the act of choosing, I don't think it's something ingrained in you.

I think of it kind of like Vegetarianism. *Excluding religion* If you're exposed to animal slaughtering/cruelty/whatever as you grow up, you're more likely to become a vegetarian. It's not that you simply CAN'T eat meat, but that after some of the things you've experienced, you choose not to. Oh yah, there's attention whores in this category too. Fucking tards.

I was brought up in a very anti-homosexual environment. I was raised Christian/Catholic.

Why I don't believe it's a choice: if it were, it could be changed. It hasn't been and won't be. Some people find out they're actually bisexual or confused. Anyone who claims to be ex-gay is a liar. And again, why would ANYONE choose to be gay? Really.

Maybe thats why you became gay over time? Everyone likes to root for the underdog... and in your household gays were an underdog?

i didnt read any of this but to be completly honest with you and being understandable and fair i think that homosexuality as a teenager or young adult has something to do with the way you grew up. If you grew up being maybe mollested or if you grew up around a lot of girls and they always talked about guys or something idk. For instance im reading this book titled America. It is about this child named America who was born into a crack-head family, his mom was a crack whore. So he was given away to like a foster home. Then he went to visit his mom one day when he was maybe 7 or 8 and he stayed for like 3 months because his mom kept doin drugs and stuff and just left 3 kids home alone for days on end. Finally police showed up and he got brought back to his old fosterhome and there was a guy there that like gave him vodka and coke and stuff and tried to get him to watch porn with him and then raped him, i'm not done with the book but this kid is older now and keeps dreaming about 'dicks' and 'tits' and is very confused about his sexuality.

Okay basically thats WHY i believe it just depends how you were brought up. BTW the book is titled America; once again; and the author is something frank.
