Question to FOH/Smite paladin

He's FoH/smiter, not pure smiter, that's why I suggested Silence Zerker / PB for the damage.

Don't know about the shield selection.

Silence Zerker (138 str, 59 dex) 24-71 dmg
215% Enhanced Damage including 15% superior mod. 78-226 listed damage.
11% Mana Steal
20 Faster Hit Recovery
+2 to All Skills
All Resistances +75
20% Increased Attack Speed
Requirements -20% (110 str, 47 dex req after this mod.)

Herald (89Str req) has 20-28 smite damage.
50% resist, 30% Faster Block, 77% chance to block for pally. 20 Str, 20 Vita. 1 socket.

Assuming lv 36 Holy shield. (Maxed with 10 Combat GC, +4 from shield, +2 from Silence Zerker)
(20+121)-(28+124) = 141-152 = 146.5 avg dmg

"Lv 36 Smite = 540% ED
Lv 24 Fana = 441% ED" = 981% ED

Avg smite damage = 1583.6


Rosebranded Scourge of quickness: (125 str, 77 dex) 3-80 dmg
+3 combat skills, 40% IAS, hopefully 2 socket.

Rosebranded Sacred Targe (86Str req) of Deflecting
22-70 smite damage, 80% chance to block for pally, +3 combat skills, hopefully 2 socket, and hopefully 45% all resist.

Assuming lv 36 Holy shield. (+10 from GC, +3 from shield, +3 from Rosebranded Scourge)
(22+121)-(77+124) = 143-201 = 172 avg dmg.

"Lv 36 Smite = 540% ED
Lv 20 Fana = 373% ED" = 913% ED

Avg smite damage = 1742.3

Those are smite damage.


With Dual Rosebranded setup, it will have 20% more Ias, ~160 more smite damage, 3 more sockets. However it will require more str (no Str bonus from shield) which is less life.

Silence/HoZ setup however, will have 20% Fhr, 40 Stat points, 80% more all resist (if S.Targe is 45% resist), +4 to all skills (Fana and Conv), higher charge damage, more effective FoH (-20% more resist from Conviction.)

Of course, if only comparing Smite, Rosebranded setup would be better. (Oh yeah, Rosebranded Scourge of quickness and Rosebranded S.Targe of Deflecting with resist are not very common -_-)

However, I will go with HoZ/Silence for the flexibility. (Can FoH, Charge, Smite, Zeal etc.)
