Avatar Problem

Ok, first off, I just logged on to the latest CheatList forum and something f*cked up, so someone had link to this one. Here is my problem:

I do all that registry sh*t and I go into avatar, I can HAVE an avatar (I have enough posts for one), and I have an avatar at a URL, so I type in URL in specified spot, I hit "OK" and it still keeps the built in gay avatar that i dont want.

Can someone plz tell me what to do to get a pic URL from another site to work as an avatar on THIS site?
