Retail pharmacy technician in a local grocery store chain. We do the highest weekly volume in the chain - which pretty much means the highest volume in the city, or for that matter the whole of eastern Pennsylvania. It is a high stress situation, especially when five people are on vacation and we have nobody to actually cover for them.
You know those trade school commercials that tout Pharmacy Technician as the job of the future. That's a load of shit. It's a fairly thankless position, as the majority of the customers are there because something is wrong with them, which directly translates to them being pissed off at you for no discernable reason. And you don't need to go to school for it. Any pharmacy will provide on-the-job training.
