Dependence on flash is bad. Not everyone has flash, not everyone has it enabled. Advertisers use flash, flash movies consume bandwidth. At the least, you should use a cell background to take up the space. A really good option is to do how tournament.com did and put up an image with an image map if flash is disabled.
