A riddle

I am something that will probably be bought for you by a member of your family.
From the moment you get me, you will use me everday from then on. (Once in use I will not be un-used.)
Once you recieve me you will not recieve/need another.
Everyone uses me eventually.
When I am in use you will not see me.
What am I?
