Media is the basis.

What i'm trying to say is that Media is the basis for what keeps starcraft up and running with popularity. I mean like I see all the time LOTR TWO TOWERS!! Thats based on a movie. I've seen UMS with misc. bands and I even saw a map called Stop the mexicans from crossing the border. But I think that media, like movies, games, music, etc. are what's going to keep the maps active and being made on sc.

My Favorite LOTR is Helms Deep.

UMS Is stupid, most of the good maps (turret cannon wars, turret defense, tower defense, hero arena, micro wars) Have nothing to do with media. All those maps are just randomly made with a mass attack feature, totally pointless.

Actually that is far from true, most of the good maps that have had more time and effort put into them are the UMS. Your right, 90% of the 'Good' community plays ums 1-3 times a month, But most less than 10% of the community are 'Good', therefore making it not a big number.

UMS isnt that bad but what i dont like about some of the maps is what Insolence had said just mass attack = BORING! fun for a while like first 15min. I like UMS with unit control like cat and mice MICRO WARS.....
