Well folks, we have finally decided to start making a high-technology theme as many of you have requested. The sketches have been worked on for a bit, but when we came to the "postbit" template (the layout of an user post, such as this blue area with an avatar, signature and buttons), we encountered a few problems.
Since we are planning to make something truly unique, advanced, yet very handy, there have been some arguments about the signature placement.
The first example (below) shows you a lot of new ideas. I'm sure you can understand the descriptions seen in the image, but a few things should be brought up. First off, the signature image would be limited to 400x100, and a few lines of text/smaller images of your choice could be placed in the "quote" section. The obvious downside with this is that the signatures will be considered small, smaller than the images most of you use today. Also, since we will not delete the other themes, some larger signatures might come in handy.
Below this text, you can see the other example. It is not extremely different from the first one, except that the signature is placed directly below the post, similar to the current standard forum themes. The bottom right section will be decorated deliciously with effects, such as pipes, tentacles or anything that comes in mind. Of course, this version has downsides as well. First off, the functionality remains the same as before, which isn't neccesarily a bad thing. Larger signatures can be used, but on the other side, perhaps you would like to see some more changes? Another downside would be that having the same "decorations" in the bottom right corner could get boring after a while.
Both of these themes will be deliciously decorated with futuristic sci-fi/megatokyo looks, and should be quite enjoyable to see, assuming that we manage to make them properly.
