Resistance Question

Let's say I have 80% resistance to one of the elemental attacks. Does that mean I will be able to resist 8 out of 10 attacks or does that mean on one attack, 80% of the damage is resisted? I have heard it both ways.

80% of the damage is resisted.

If 8 out of 10 attacks were resisted then you'd be fucked on the 2 out of 10 that weren't resisted. I concur with !K_A!, it's 80% of the damage resisted.

so u only recieve 20 out of 100 dmg?

If 100 damage was after the pvp penalty then yes.
