I wasn't paying enough attention to it to see if it actually works.

For some reason, if a post had multiple attachments, the attachments were being ignored. After I enabled thumbnails, all attachements are displayed regardless of type and number. I consider that an improvement. If it's really that important that it not be a thumbnail, either make your image smaller than the generous (for a thumbnail) 150x150 limit, or host it somewhere.

Well I'm one of those 56K users and I still think it's a bad idea.
