Topic, I am not talking about like 1 or 2 hour drive, more like flight or long hours of drive.

It's conjugal, I believe. I think they CAN work, but in most cases will fail miserably due to one person getting drunk as hell and porking random people.

Still, lust will probably end up getting the best of them in the end. Sex is becoming too big of a part of relationships anymore. If there isn't any, they usually don't last too long. I can think of a couple exceptions though.

Well, that's what i througth too at first about sex, but then you really die down on it, I mean you don't think of it with other people rather than with the one you like/love.

I guess it depends on what KIND of relationship you're into. A real one is likely going to hurt you eventually if you really believe in it, since the chances of having your partner cheat on you are protruding. On the other hand, a platonic relationship may work very well. It depends entirely on the person.

I know this girl who has had a boyfriend for 8 months or so, and he's moving to England (from the US), and he wants to marry her before then. I just don't think he seems like a very faithful person in the first place, and that marriage would just be a way for him to increase his chances of keeping her.

Of course, if you normally keep the connection online to save expensive phone bills, other factors may come into play too, but that's too much to ramble about here anyway.

You aren't talking about my situation directly, are you? I hope you're just generalizing.

I wasn't talking to you, I was responding to the long distance relationship topic. And no, about the marriage, I wasn't referring to you. Marriage if both peolple love each other and want to stay together for life (which actually happens in some cases, although not most), but the guy I was talking about seems to want to hurry marriage just to be SURE to keep her before he goes away to England, and she doesn't seem to want to do that at all. And he apparently has a previous experience of cheating on his girlfriends, too.

Long distance, depends. Did you meet this person ... on the internet? or something lame of that matter. Or did you meet them on a trip, cruise, etc? Either one of those aren't very serious, and probably wouldn't work out.

But lets say you've got a love for a while, and they have to move to a different state(for example). And you are quite serious, go ahead and pursue it, you may end up paying some money into it, but if you are even having second thoughts over and Ex, then don't bother.

Most long-distance relationships don't work, I'd recommend not bothering with it, just let it go.

If you can't go see the other person semi-regularly, and you haven't had a strong relationship before the separation, it won't work out.

I've actually got a lot more input on this subject, but... I'm not sure what the answer to the question is right now. I'll get back at ya with it tonight.

Sorry for the off-topic, but I have to comment on that since I'm such the SNES RPG music expert.

I always put FF6 at the top of the list. Chrono Trigger is 2nd. Earthbound comes in 3rd because some of the tracks are un-listenable unless you're actually playing the game. I'm, of course, making a reference to all the tracks that sound like static. They're good in-game, but out... they just don't fit otherwise.

No, they cannot work. Well, I should say do not work 95% of the time... I've been in a couple long distance relationships, where I could only see the other person once or twice a month for a day or two, and none worked. My girl right now lives about 50 minutes away and it's okay though, so I dont know. We've been together a while, before it was long distance she lived down the block from me. I try to see her at least once a week.

Maybe tonight we'll fly so far away... We'll be lost before the dawn...
