Raz's Reviews
Reply

I don't know how many of you read his reviews, but I'm glad he does them. I get have a subscription to Gamepro that I don't read (by any means) cover to cover. I had a subscription to EGM that I read most of (but almost always skipped the reviews unless it was of a game I was particularly interested in [and, thus, didn't need a review...] ).

Raz's reviews are thorough, and trustworthy, as... well... He's more real to me than a handle in a magazine. He's a handle on a forum that I've been a member of for a couple of years. Flawed logic, it is, but sometimes it is sufficient.

Anyhow, thanks Raziel. *presents cookie*

Very much true. Anytime I have questions or comments on games, he is always there to put in his much earned 2 cents.

It's not really flawed. To most readers, a columnist in a magazine is a black box: Games go in, and reviews come out; however, an active user on a forum is a gray box: you've seen and provided inputs and seen the outputs, and have a general idea of the processes between them. To put it more simply, it's a matter of familiarity: Your interaction with the columnist is limited to one or two articles a month; your interaction with an active forum member, on the other hand, is quite extensive,

Um, no, see there are "black box" systems, where you have no idea how a system turns the inputs into the outputs, "white box" systems, where you basicly have the schematics, and in between are "gray box" systems, where you have a general idea of the proccess that turns the inputs into the outputs, but you don't know all the specifics.
