My first photoshop attempt.

Well, this is the best i could do.

I assume its some kind of starfield :P. I suggest u just do various tutorials to start and get the hang of it. Another thing that helps is to draw something with multiple colours (can be anything) and then try the different effects to see what the different effects do.
