I sincerely *hope* the show won't suffer from American movie elements. You know, if you have a child and a dog with you, you're all bound to survive. Likewise, all "immoral" people must go to prison or die, or maybe surrender/resign from their post. In other words, David Palmer *has* to lose his presidential post in the last episode. The main two reasons for this are:
1) He has gotten pretty nailed up in murder affairs.
2) He "ordered" a burglary, and I just think of the Watergate scandal, which I sincerely doubt the script writors think highly of. Maybe they want to remind the world had corrupt governments WILL go away.
3) The election WON'T take place in the last hour if the show is somewhat logical, and people will want answers, and not sit and wait for the next season before you know whether or not he kept his post. It'd be like experiencing the first episode of season 3 again; "who's in that presidential car?" Or something like that.
The only way I see out of the latter is really that the other presidential candidate would for some reason take the blame for the whole Sherry incident, which is *SO* not bound to happen. I guess we shall see soon.
