What did people use before Google/Yahoo/Ask(/Jeeves)/Bing and so on? Like, how did you search the web? Dark web, deep web? I'm curious about old websites, and what's lurking out there, in this infinite abyss.

I cant remember that far back. I do remember using Russian search engines to circumvent AOL parental controls to find porn on the internet. Stupid AOL didn't know russian > : )
