Major League Soccer

Beck's had two assists in the Galaxy's 5-4 loss to New York Red Bulls. Should've only been 4-4, because Jose Altidore pulled down a defender, who grabbed his jersey and did the same afterwards. That led to a free-kick goal. Damn. And for all of you who think David Beckham is overrated, just realize he's getting so much money in endorsements, not just salary. Also, just watch him play. He's fun to watch and definitely on his game!

I'm allowed to say he's overrated, though, right?

Personally, I don't think he'll survive more than two seasons, especially not with all the travelling - not just the travelling across America (I think it's something like 22,000 miles in the first month) but the travelling to England when McClaren *spit* brings him in for the England squad. I think he's on the team sheet for the match against Germany.

If that's on Wednesday, I believe you're right. He was supposed to start against D.C. United in their 1-0 loss, but apparently got injured playing for England. I think the travel may be the only reason he will not last too long, but the guy still plays great. And yes, Mr. Britain, you can call him overrated.

He has made soccer popular though in the states. I remember hearing on espn that more people watched his opener game then any other game. Also, more soccer shit (shirts, etc) have been selling like hot cakes.

That is true. Last night was the record number of people to attend an MLS game. (66,237) L.A. (3-8-5) did pretty good against NY (10-7-3). I think if Xavier would've been there for L.A.'s defense they would have won. Jazic getting injured by Angel was a turning point of the game, because it practically collapsed L.A.'s defense.

I believe Beckham is very over rated but will do some good for soccer in the states. This great sport is receiving more attention than I have ever seen before. I hope he can al least turn the galaxys record around.

I wouldn't go that far, EVERYONE I know STILL doesn't like soccer because some European douchebag is playing for Los Angeles.

I mean sure, I'll cheer for the States when they're in the olymics, but other than that, Lmao.

I never said that everyone would be interested. I just stated that it has given soccer a huge rise in the states.
