Another Era ended...

Vollstrecker has now rejoined the ranks of Single men.

I broke up with Abby Friday night, after realizing that I didn't love her... the way I should, I guess. She's been more of a good friend to me than a girlfriend for some time, and I was too blind to see it. After that realization, I decided she deserved better than what I was giving her and told her so...

It's better this way, rather than dragging it out and making life harder for both of us that way.

Well hopefully you guys can work it out, and possibly stay friends? I'm not sure exactly what your wanting to do, but being single has no limits.

Well, that's certainly ill news, Voll, but you've gotta do what you've gotta do. In my opinion, it's better to have pre-emptively made this decision rather than dragging it out and causing more internal damage in the process. I've been to that place, and the amount of harm it can cause is a lot worse than you can imagine.

And who knows what could happen in the future? It's better to leave future possiblities open rather than burn those bridges by way of procrastination. Going about the breakup as you have shows that you have her best interests in mind, and by protecting her from possible harm, you keep the relationship between the two of you intact. Had you held off, you would have only been thinking of yourself, and it would have done more harm in the long run.

Sorry to hear that, but at least you did it for the right reasons. I don't know if it is better to break it off for that reason or to have it caused by cheating or something. On the one hand, you are both friends, but the break-up, I'm sure, is extremely tough for her to handle right now. On the other, if you had a heated arguement and ended it, at least anger would take the place of depression, and moving on would be easier for both of you. That, and there is always the possiblity of make-up sex.

We're back together already...

I don't trust my judgement right now, considering all the time I spent thinking about that was at work.

I've been getting ~6 hours of sleep a night (at most, even less oftentimes), been depressed at work (when I'm there 10+ hours a day), and everything has been fucking up around me. I also suspect I have a personality disorder that I was unaware of (Sov thinks I might be bipolar)...

Anyway, yeah. I'm considering myself "Judgement Impaired" until I get off this shitpile of a job, and get back to normal.
