Does anyone wanna see...

The gaming section overhauled? I've suggested a couple of times what I would think would look good here. It has been shot down mostly because of activity, there is no need. I still think there's a need, even if just to look clean. Some things to think about when answering...

1)Are community interests being shown?

-For instance, alot of us are into Diablo II, I think that merits its own section. How many of us are still playing World of Warcraft? I think three of us are playing Warhammer. Are there any good MMO's, FPS's, RTS games OUT that you feel would merit their own section?

2)Are you happy with moderators? Would you yourself like a position as one.

-I know some of you are a lot more intelligent then others in certain fields. I think IIRC GLG requested the RPG Maker moderator? Is there anything you think you could bring, anything you know enough about that you could answer just about any question?

3)Do you have any idea's to help change the section around?

What kinds of things would you be looking for if you are interested in an overhaul? Upcomming games? Reviews? Previews? Movies? What what what????

I think community input is what will bring some life back into this section. With a wide variety of different platforms and sections vistors can have questions answered and what not.

This is just a brain storming activity, don't expect anything from this thread. I'm going to take some notes and present another suggestion in the near future.

I think a Warhammer forum makes perfect sense. I also think forum-specific moderators are something we should use.

The general consensus seems to be that specific game forums just die, though. In my opinion, who cares? If it dies, it dies. It can be removed. Not having it in the first place could be preventing us from having a significant amount of activity. You never know what might happen with a Warhammer forum, for instance. It might end up being the next big thing at Zelaron.

The other thing to think about is, do we only want to appeal only to Zelaron members? Or are we interested in reaching out to the gamer who likes "De Blob". If we reach out then we should widen our horizons a little and have forums for games that some of us haven't really noticed yet. If we are only interested in addressing Zelaron member base interests then a Warhammer forum doesn't make much since seeing as there are three of us who have publicly stated we are playing.

The Too Human forum was a great idea to obtain some new members. I think it was just went about the wrong way. Too Human has since kind of died.. Warhammer is currently the biggest thing out. Maybe we should look into creating something for this game, of course that all depends on the census of the above statement.

Well, we have to have at least a few members that are interested in the game for it to have a successful forum here. For instance, I'm sure Hello Kitty Island Adventure is loved by quite a lot of people, but not at Zelaron, and making a forum for it would be nearly pointless.

I agree about Warhammer though. I think if we were to make a forum for it, and get it started in the development process, it would be something that we could potentially advertise to bring more people here.

Continuing the brain storming idea, lets pretend these positions are available. Which would you be interested in? Keep in mind what a moderator is before saying it's something you would enjoy doing.

Personally I think that if you recommend yourself you are agreeing that you know a good amount of what you are requesting to oversee. For instance, Palin should bow out because she doesn't know anything about what she is potentially going to be oversee'ing. IMO you should be active in the division you request (play, use, or research 3-5 times a week).
