Xenosaga Episode I

In preparation for Episode II, let's all go back and explore why this game is such a masterpiece.

I will start by bashing my second-to-least favorite hero, KOS-MOS.

KOS-MOS is a military android built to combat the Gnosis. However, as the plot is further revealed, we learn her significance is much greater. KOS-MOS had some great moments:

-Awakens to the dismay and terror of the Vector staff.
-Totally demolishes the Gnosis, after saving Shion. (Kinda. Shion was somehow protected, but KOS-MOS did help her get free.)
-Absorbs hundreds of Gnosis. Pretty cool.
-Wastes the U-TIC team. (That was KOS-MOS archetype form, but it was still cool.)
-KOS-MOS saves everyone (The End.)

Still, a good character need more than a great scene displaying power. (Go Kain) They need great lines, and if a voice is available, a good actor to fill that roll. KOS-MOS being a typical A.I. had no real forms of emotion and talked purely and flatly. That in conjunction with the terrible voice-actor, made KOS-MOS a terrible character. Here are my three favorite characters of the whole game:

Margulis:
Margulis is a skilled, cruel, and high-ranking member of the U-TIC Organization. He expresses no feeling of symathy or compassion. The only words he speaks with any sort of emotion are words of contempt.
"The people you've encountered in your lifetiem are not people at all. They're less than human--mere sacks of flesh and bone." A sample of his speech to Cherenkov. That speech, along with many other dialogues involving him, were some of the best talking moments of the game.
When Ziggy and MOMO are fleeing and Margulis stops them, the music, his voice, his actions, all were awesome. The whole scene was pure genius!

Albedo:
Albedo is a sick, twisted little genetic freak of an existence. His abilities and intelligence reached new heights when U-DO transferred some it's power into him. (Or maybe it was part of U-DO?) The first glimpse of him was after Ziggy and MOMO escape, Margulis looks around and sees him with one of the Kirschwasers. He frequently appears throughout the episode and you finally meet him (Jr. had already met him, but we hadn't yet in teh game) at the Song of Nephilim. MOMO looks around at the mutalated corpses of her sisters and then Albedo speaks:
"Such tears... What beauty they hold, these tears of sorrow. Surely they are the most precious substance in teh world..." You had already seen he was a tad unhinged in a previous scene where he's talking to Margulis, but at this moment and scene, you get a good look at this crazy S.O.B. He rips off his own head!!! He's still laughing both when he's doing it, and afterward. That was the best scene in the whole game.

Virgil:
I had a feeling he was gonna come back. Some sense... I felt that he had too much character to be bumped off so early. And, I was right! He was a Lieutenant in the Federation. Now, he's got superpowers and seems to work for Wilhelm. His voice, hsi character, all his actions and words were great. "You want some of this?! Ahhh! Than come and get it you bastards!!! Ahh, aahhh, aah!! HAHAHAHAHA!!!" That's the scene right before he dies. He's doing all this, while shooting that rifle like a lunatic! Absolutely brilliant.

That's it. They rule. Their voice-acting, the scenes with them, and their look, blow away KOS-MOS. I frankly hate the fact that she is so important. Though, it appears Shion might be even more important. Let's just hope KOS-MOS' voice and lines are better than the ones in Episode I, or I'll be pissed.

Now, the real interesting part. What do you want revealed in Episode II? Here's what I want answered, in order from what I absolutely want answered to what I woudl just like explained a bit more.

1. Y Data-What was in the information Albedo sucked out of her? Something about Shion and KOS-MOS. (After getting the info, he stares directly at them and claims "it all makes sense now") That bitch of a little girl won't tell us. Albedo will probably tell Shion and company first.

2. Mizrahi's Sanity-Was he a mad scientist like everyoen claims throughout the game? Or did he just know more than everyone? He seemed to be waiting, preparing the world for some great event. Of course, this is only speculation based on a few scenes. Perhaps he was both insane and trying to help the world.... Don't get that.

3. chaos-Who is he? Why's he know Nephilim? What are those powers of his? Why does Virgil address him as "boss"?

4. Zohar-Any Xenogears enthusiast is definitely awaiting more details about this strange object. It caused a gret deal of the events in Xenogears, and this story seems to revolve around it as well.

5. Shion and Jin-Her brother. Jin is supposed to enter in this episode. Shion also is supposed to display some sort of martial arts technique in Episode II. Those bastards threw in those hints just to torture me!

6. Virgil's Rebirth-Did he even die? He makes a remark about "the slightest shit and then life and death no longer have any meaning." Something obviously happened. What about his connection with Fabronia? And chaos? Virgil is a man of mystery.

7. Wilhelm-He's...I don't know what he is. I sense he's more cunning, powerful, and significant than any other villain we've met so far. I have a feeling that he may be the final boss of the whole series.

Plus, many more small details I would like cleared up. Now, here's some interesting things I hope the people here who beat Xenogears noticed.

A. Nephilim seems to be some form of "higher existence." The Existence. Trapped in the Zohar... Any connection?
B. Albedo's Mech (Simeon) is clearly more powerful than any other A.G.W.S. Could it be an early-model Gear?
C. Jr. is called "Little Master" and Bart was called "young master." Not huge, but interesting.
D. A side-character from Xenogears is almost identical to a side-character of Xenosga. Can you guess which one? It's Lieutenant Commander Vanderkam. He has the face paint and look of the General from Xenogears who Grahf granted "The Power" to after you defeated him in the Dora.

The game was superb. I can't wait for the second one.

NOTE: Any misspellings or grammatical mistakes should be corrected, but I'm too lazy.
