Death of the Command and Conquer Series

These are some of the best strategy games ever made. The original ones are the best, C&C GDI V. NOD, Red Alert 1, Tiberian Sun.

Red Alert 2 is pretty good, but seems too much like a cartoon for my liking, then there is Generals and Zero Hour. Generals is a great game itself... but they have abandoned the unique C&C Gameplay for a more Blizzard-Like approach. They abandoned the Construction Yard Concept, and the Side Bar. It really isnt worthy of the Name, Command and Conquer, because that is exactly what it isnt. They where just trying to cash in on the Popular C&C name and ended up almost totally destroying it. Soon, they will have so many games alike, they will be able to play against each other! The GLA will pit it out with the Protoss. The Orcs can fight the Core* and the strategy game industry will be destroyed, for lack of individuality and originality .

Somebody better do something before C&C turns out like The War of the Ring...

*Core from the game Total Annihilation by Cavedog Entertainment.

I liked Tiberian Sun, never really played the other ones as much. If I am going to play a game like that I will just stick with SC :P I know it, like it, and well did I say like it already?

Yah I like Starcraft too. I use the Terrans the most, they are the most balanced between attack and defence, like the bunkers, for example and seige tanks. Can both be used for offence or defence. And you can evacuate your base etc. Best team. lol this is going off topic...

I would rather Westwood drop the C&C series, and get back to some of the other genres they used to pwn back in the day.

Good Examples: Legend of Kyrindia (sp) and Lands of Lore. Both good, fun games. All Westwood makes are C&C clones, which take about 1 week to script, since there's not much new being added on.

I don't even see what's so great about C&C. I bought it. I absolutely hated it. It was the biggest waste of money ever. I can't say that I would shed a single tear if all C&C disks disappeared off the face of this earth.

I loved C&C Red Alert. I guess you had to be around when it came out. It was GREAT back then.
