smiter weapon

Hi guys

Anyone have a idea on what weapon is best for smiters ?
weapon and shield combo.

I was thinking of 6socket phase socket with 4 x ber and 2 x um.
im sure someone has already thought of an idea like that or have tried it.

Please tell if it is a good idea or not.
If not please suggest other weapons.

The lacerator ax for the 35% amp, my friend uses it and he pwned me in like 3 seconds.

A 'Silence' Phase Blade was always a favorite back in .09, due to the Phase's base attack speed and the good mods on 'Silence'.

The Amplify Damage on the Lacerator does sound like a very viable weapon also.

I wouldn't waste the ber's,rather I would shop around for Silence runes. HEre are the stats:
Silence 6 Socket Weapons Dol + Eld + Hel + Ist + Tir + Vex 200% Enhanced Damage
+75% Damage To Undead
Requirements -20%
20% Increased Attack Speed
+50 To Attack Rating Against Undead
+2 To All Skills
All Resistances +75
20% Faster Hit Recovery
11% Mana Stolen Per Hit
Hit Causes Monster To Flee 25%
Hit Blinds Target +33
+2 To Mana After Each Kill
30% Better Chance Of Getting Magic Items

Otherwise I would go for a 5 Ohm 1 Um phase blade.

why ohms ? i thought Enhance damage on weapon dont help smite damage at all...

Heheh whoops. Thought you were going for seperate wep damage. Make that 2 ohm, and 4 ber.

Silence PB gives a range 2, 6 fpa smite, +2 skills, 75% all resists and 20% FHR.
Silence Zerker gives range 3, 8 fpa smite (need 35% IAS to reach 6 fpa), and others.

Scourge can also be good, because it has range 3, and with a -10 base speed. 35% IAS for 6 fpa, 10 (or 6..) % for 7 fpa.

That's assuming you have a lv 20 Fana aura on.

If you are only going to smite, you won't need Ohm. Ber and Um it as you see fit, depend on if you want CB or Open Wound. CB doesn't work that well with low HP opponents though.

ahhhh, my specialty, are u a v/t or pure smiter??
but my suggestions would be silence, fury for runewords, in v/t duels i find that fury > silence due to OW and how ezly foh can be negated.
theres also a MUCH BETTER choice to 4 ber/2um weapon, a simple stormlash wit um imo is better, where learning how to charge is very usefull, if u DONT LIKE CHARGING then some other high end smite weapons would be:
preists X of quickness
rose branded X of quickness
both preferably a base speed 0 or better, flail, axe, sword
2x socket ber/um
generally if u want the smite duel to last more than 20 secs go um's if not use bers, as senesia mentioned CB is only affected by their BASE hp (excluding things like BO) and only does 1/10 of their life and OW is based upon clvl, and both are resisted by DR so choose wisely as it affects ur pockets too

some other smite weapons that are considerable would be the redeemer, asterons iron ward, and the perf smite weapon a perf heavens light shael +um or ber

only enhanced damg OUTSIDE of the weapon affect smite, but not ed/max jewels as they seem to be bugged in damg calculations, another strange thing is when u put on the enhanced damg gear IT WILL NOT SHOW UP ON UR DAMG, including using asterons iron ward with the +damg modifier

My friend uses doom runeword , very irritating (cuz of holy freeze),
if u combne with exile u have perfect pala , freeze target (no ravens dont help ) , defianse for high defense and another aura of ur choice (fana is best to my opinion).

my v/t eats this type of pally for breakfeat, its so simple to counter this type, i dont understand y its a popular build : / a simple ias sword defeats holy freeze and to even think that exile is worth using is if it had block and resists and some dr but we cant have everything, all i can say is doom is cheap but beatable by a stronger smite weapon
