Post Battle! Simon vs Sigma

Posted 2003-09-25, 11:49 PM
Notice: The previous battle, "Seymour vs. Seifer" has not been closed. It will remain open until saturday, most likely. I am testing out an "overlapping" technique to see if it increases activity on this board.

Arena: Flash Column - A 200 foot long cylindrical steel silo, about 75 feet in diameter. The column is filled with platforms, wall-mounted flame jets, shock pads, spiked walls, trap-doors and even more deadly devices. The entire structure is held on a giant hydraulic arm, and at three different stations on the inside, the position of the column can be manually switched from vertical to horizontal or diagonal. Each station can only be used once per battle.

In the Red Corner, wearing a curiously pink-ish set of armor. Loaded up with Holy Water, Crosses, Torches, a tremendous cache of whips and flails, and the 1999 Fabio lookalike first place trophy! Dracula's worst nightmare, the legendary vampire hunter, from Castlevania: Simon Belmont!!!

And in the Blue Corner, sporting the shiniest chrome dome this side of Captain Picard! Equipped with his personal laser sabre, head mounted energy-cannon, wall-jumping and super speed capabilities, and his beloved cyber-dog! The leader of the Maverick Reploids, the psychotic android tyrant, from Mega Man X: Sigma!!!

These two combatants hail from worlds as different as night and day. One is a hero to the people of his medieval homeland, the other is a genocidal cyborg from a distant future. Will Simon's resoursefullness leave Sigma in pieces, or will the tyrant's destructive weaponry leave the legendary Belmont as nothing but a blob of smoldering pulp? It's time to make your choices...

Question:
Sigma with his dog, that sounds like Megaman X (Or was it X3...can't remember)...can he change forms? You know, like in all encounter with Sigma, X (or Zero) always needs to beat him 2-3 times in the final stage?

Sigma takes up a WHOLE screen, whereas Simon Belmont reaches only up to his pinkie finger. Do crosses work on ROBOTS?! Holy Water could still do, it's still water and it will shortcircuit the extremely cheap bastard from the year 20XX. And Simon could jump all around the screen, a la Megaman, but then again he's only human and he'll get fried with one hit of any of Sigma's stupidly big weapons.

So Sigma wins.
Life is short.
Let's all grab a BEER~~~!!!

Let's see some more action here, people. I don't want the judges to have to base decisions off of one post.

Well, this was certainly tame. And after such a stunning performance in the Seymour vs. Seifer thread. Well, everybody take a gander at the Bracket Thread for the "wow, I didn't see that one coming" winner's announcement!
