There are too many members online for such a bandwidth hogging feature, considering it's not only displaying everyone but resolving their IP's. vBulletin.org stated that large boards might function a lot worse with it enabled, so I thought we could use our bandwidth for better purposes, such as sharing our knowledge with others who would need it.

Sorry to bring this up so late but:

Couldnt you just take the feature that showed guests off and still be able to see where registered members are?

Well it has a choice.. You can show only registered members on who's online. I think they said it hogs bandwidth becase of showing guests.
