Shields for 'switchazons'

Just curious what you think the best move for me to make here would be. I basically have a pvp bowazon with full DR gear, but am wondering which would be the wiser choice here: a stormshield with a -15 requirement jewel socket to get to the max 75% DR mark or a whitstan's shield socketed with Ber to hit 75% DR. don't say a shaeled storm, because I'm not doing that on a zon (156 strength on a zon lol).

anyway, my switch will involve using the Jab skill for when I choose to melee. with storm I get +str, resists, higher def (not a big deal really for pvp but it still helps) and with whitstan's I get a little higher and faster block. the only issue I have is that by using storm, that leaves me more versatility to change out armour, belts, and helms and still have good DR. I lose that versatility with whit's shield. so...

stormshield Pros:

+str for Jabbing damage bonus
good resists
higher DR allows more item change versatility
high defense

storm Cons:

pts needed into str to use
block% and speed a little lower than Whit's

Ber'd whitstan pros:

faster block, higher block%
lighter, and lower requirements

Ber'd whitstan Cons:

Have to socket a Ber rune in it
no other mods
unable to wear anything at all other than shaft, string and gaze to get max DR

seems to me to be in favour of stormshield so far, what do you think?

i think personally storm is a must... thats what my zon uses, and it works very well... liek you said the jab is good for when you want to do melee... this combo for a zon is id have to say the best... what my zon does to other zons that are poison overloaded, is i switch to shield, run up to them, they will eather run away because im close, in which i can then switch back fast and pop them in the ass, or if they do not run(some are smart) then you jab em to death... people think that you wouldnt be able to kill them, but the thing is when you are "still" and you have 75% block, that upps it to like 95% block, b4 the zon even gets a hit through you, she will be dead i dont know exactlly why, but when you stand still you block 2x better as apposed to running...
faster block can be replaced with faster hit recovery as they are both benificial in the same way, you can get the fhr from some rare elite boots

I'd say that u should get whichever one will be cheaper...probably whits, because they will both hit dr but ss will need + str and whits blocks faster, the % is higher, and its lighter. Personally I'd go w/ whits.

storm all the way you will need the resists+dmg reduction, what are you going to replace the 35% dmg reduce with? socket all your gear with Ber's??? well thats a waist of soj's... and a waist of socketing, you could socket your other things with 15% ias +15 resist all jewels to slay sorcs and to hit 8 fps with dmg reduction on, afterall sorcs are a zons main problem
