God, I miss the days when people saying America was becoming a police state were confined to the far-left. Now, here I am suspecting the same.
On the bright side, can this tech be used to hunt down prepubescent trash-talkers who cheat their way to MMO power and crow about it as though they were the NFL Superstars?
I can see it now: middle-school wise-guy griefs some CIA agent on his break with "ROFL! 1 k1ll j00, n00b! Th3n 1 c0me and k1ll ur d0g and eat h1m!" Three days later the Man in Black shows up to his front door. "Is Timmy Johnson here?" Terrified parent calls Timmy down. "Excuse me, Mr. Johnson, but three days you threatened to kill and eat my dog. That could be construed as a terrorist threat. I have a transcript here." Agent then hands Timmy a transcript reading: "1337pwn3rx13 said at 6:42 (EST): ROFL! 1 k1ll j00, n00b! Th3n 1 c0me and k1ll ur d0g and eat h1m!" Agent then walks off without further comment.
