origin of life

An article from the discover magazine says that viruses may have created the first lifeform. now this is a controversial subject for all you science lovers and religious ppl. but I think that God used the virus to create the first man and woman; adam and eve. i also think that adam and eve had a lot more chromosomes than we so now. that is why they were able to spawn the entire human race. so here, discuss! btw the pdf i created for you guys containing the article is 8 to 9 mb big, so I can't attach it here. if anyone can host it, i would appreciate it. in the meantime, request it here and I can email it to you.

"God used the virus to create the first man and woman" LOL?

I believe in a supreme being, I believe in science, I believe in facts. I don't believe in Adam and Eve.

Why would they have to have more chromosomes than a normal human being and how would their offspring not have the same amount since it would be written in their sex cells' DNA?

see, because of meiosis(sp check) the dna splits in half. so if the dna splitting was different in those days, where the dna would split but end up with half the dna when the process ends, then the dna would slowly reduce in size in each human to the point where it is today and spread te different dna to their offspring, but then certain humans would go even further in their splitting of dna and become faulty and die off. that way only the humans with workable dna live which is why we have the amount of dna and the process to divide them as it is today.

"Well I believe that an unknown supreme being started the big bang. As to where the supreme being came from I can't explain, nobody can.

The micro organisms were formed by the methane ammonium and water vapor that were on earth, which have the right ingredients for life(some guy actually did an expirement and created organisms with these three things.)

The micro organisms respired, putting o2 out, which was broken down into o1s by UV rays. The o1s grabbed onto either other o1s(creating o2s or oxygen) or onto o2s(creating o3 or ozone) which formed the ozone layer, allowing the organisms to be protected from the rays, over time minor mutations (very minor things, like DNA stuff switching around) created separate species."

If I'm not mistaken, if a person only ended up with half the DNA of a normal human then they would be seriously fucked up, like lacking essential parts of their body. If certain DNA code is missing, then a person could be born without any one of their vital organs. You can't just NOT have certain DNA, especially half of the DNA as you are proposing.

if you read what I wrote on the first post of the entire thread you would notice that I said among other things:
sciencekid said:
i also think that adam and eve had a lot more chromosomes than we so now. that is why they were able to spawn the entire human race.
so now add this: what if the extra chromosomes were dormant and were passed on similiarily to how a arthritis gene can be passed on through someone else onto their children without harming the carrier. also consider what i said before:

sciencekid said:

does that answer your question? see, the ones with half their genes would die off ok, and the rest would live? I already said that.

If you're going to be a Christian at least be an educated one, Adam and Eve are meant to be symbolic, like most of the old testament of the bible, and I always find it funny when people take it word for word like you do. There's some crazy shit that happens in the old testament, if you believe that it actually happened then you're nuts.

It's so ironic that his name is "sciencekid" too. "Christian Scientist" is an oxymoron.

Like everyone said, adam and eve are symbolic, but it doesn't mean that one cannot believe in it. I believe that they existed but that doesnt make me any different from anybody that doesnt. I would like to read that article.

No it isn't.

You could have a Geologist who's a Christian. A Christian versed in the science of Geology.

that's probably the only thing i almost take word for word. like for example, the "seven days" concept is symbolic and i don't take that word for word. also, it's all about opinion. it could mean anything, but the views differ between each person. so educated or not, it will differ. and grav? i can be a scientist and a christian as well. see i try to prove the bible through science. so "christian scientist" isn't an oxymoron.

sure gruesome body, I'll see if i can get you the article. it's pretty big and i only have dial up, but once i save it as a draft i can send it without any trouble. so i'll attach it now and see how far I get, ok? if i can't get it to you in a few moments I'll have to do it overnight.
