I went to highschool with a guy who could do expert in like 30 seconds. His minesweeper skills were like art.

I could do it in 30 seconds if I weren't too lazy to do it and take a picture and blah blah...

I still don't know how to play that game. I used to just randomly click around when I was bored.

On this computer it's 122 seconds, but on one of my old work computer, where I basically did nothing but play Minesweeper all day (Literally), I got into the 80's. Can't remmeber the exact time, but it was pretty impressive.

Oh, and 30 seconds is impossible. I think the world record (Yes, world record) is around 51 seconds. Definitely didn't do 30's. No doubt in my mind.

You're talking abpout the expert one? The giant one?

I've never completed that one yet.

I've done both the others but not that one.

When I was on Work Experience I literally played it all day. he computer was very old and had no internet connection, so that was my leisure activity.

Blah, I am not that great at minesweeper. I hear it has something to do with the numbers. My best time is 97 seconds.

From what I can tell, a friend told me that if I see something like this...

[ ][ ][ ]
[ ] 3 [ ]
[ ][ ][ ]

Taking [ ] = Unclicked boxes...I was told that the number tells you how many mines. So out of those 8 remaining boxes, 3 of them are mines. So far it's been working for me but if I am wrong, please correct me

This isn't brain surgery. Yes, that is how you play. The number signifies how many bombs are touching it.

yeah well it is very tricky in the begining because you dont know where there are bombs until you can see some of the numbers to devolpe a genral idea of where they are.

I usually just click around until I can find a good big space, usually takes a few times of starting over. But I have never been able to beat this on expert mode without having to at least guess once, maybe it's just my luck, but it seems to me that it will always make you guess, and that is what usually gets me.

I always start at the corners then randomly click a few times in the middle.

Then I start playing it properly.

There are definitely times where you have to guess, but I'd say only about 20% of the times you play Expert is that the case. I can just about always beat Expert if I take my time, but if I'm going for a record, I guess a few times at least. The difference is, after a while, you start to notice patterns, which make the guesses only half guesses in essence.

My chemistry teacher could do it in right around 100 secs. He recognizes the patterns faster than i could think about it.
