Well, it starts in 2 days. Anybody gonna be there?

I'm going with a *huge* group. We've got reserved seats, and a seating chart (which I hope to hell can be modified). I'm supposed to sit next to the most annoying motherfucker I know for like.... 4 days.

Well, we have a team in the Enemy Territory tourney, and our chances there are slim to nil.

I'm signed up for the Doom 3 and the Quake 2 tourneys, but I'm on a waiting list. My chances of getting in the top 3 are slim to nil.

The BYOC is going to rock, though, and I'm hoping for a Street Fighter 2 tourney. I'll pwn ass if we have one. All the non-official tournaments are the really fun ones--the ones that people there organize. There's usually not any prizes, but... it's free, so whatever.

Ahhhhh. Street Fighter 2.
Now there is a real game.

Props to Bob has gone up 30%, will go up another 40% if he enters the tourney as Zangief.

They had a throw back SF2 tourney at a popular pool hall here a few years back. I was lucky enough to see the finallists and oh my goodness. Let me just say that I would have gotten WTFPWNED by any of them. Most awesome sight in gaming history was a disabled dude. He was using his right hand on the joystick and what used to be his left wrist to hit the buttons. He was missing his entire left hand but it didn't matter much. His left "button masher of pwnage" was kicking so much ass he was giving the other finalists 2nd round in all his bouts!

I have never seen anything like it before. He was the most consistant spinning pile driver user I have ever seen. It was pretty much automatic when the poor sap got within half a screen length they were going to get WTFPWNED with it. The only Zangief finalist took the tourney. To this date I have never seen anything like it.

I read an article recently, and the kid in it would be scary to watch:

Sorry on Zangief. I play Ryu.

There was a Street Fighter Alpha some shit tourney at a big lan in Houston a while back, and I'd never even played that SF. I got 4th (double elim -- lost both times to the guy who got 1st -- gay).

I like playing SF2Turbo on max turbo because most people can't play at that speed (or simply aren't used to it) and henceforth suck.

How'd Quakecon do?

How did you and your team do in the games?
