Map Notes:
Sherwood Forest is a 5-player map at 192x192, making this an enormous map for only 2-5 players.
Early Rush Effectiveness is medium to low, due to size and randomness in 1v1 and 2v2 games.
Ease of expansion is fairly easy because of 5 large expos with 7 mineral fields and adjacent to the starting points, and 5 smaller expos with no gas and 6 mineral patches, in the middle of the map, in a circular pattern.
Starting locations are at right-top (elevated) left-top (ground level) middle right (ground level) bottom middle (ground level) and left middle (elevated)
There is just one entrance to each base, so defending is fairly easy, but you may want to rush early in order to keep your opponent from massing a large defense at his main.
All of the starting bases each have an elevated platform around, or near the mining areas, making an early tank/marine/medic drop extremely effective, so long as they haven't developed a strong anti drop defense.
These elevated areas also make for a difficult time battling large groups of long ranged air enemies, such as carriers and guardians, because to avoid attacks from hydras or dragoons, all the player has to do is run behind the wall and continue to attack either out of range or after they pull there defenses back.
Large, ground based attacks also work well on this map, as long as you can get into their base
I personally have never seen a public game that I didn't create with this map, you may be able to catch even the better players off guard if they don't know the map. Have fun and be careful for Robin Hood and his "merry" men
