MY school SUCKS

They have just banned the usage of cell phones with cameras in then This is what they said on the website.

The District 125 Board of Education has approved banning students from using camera cell phones on school property or during school-sponsored activities. The policy change prohibits camera cell phones from any restroom, locker room or other location where students and staff "have a reasonable expectation of privacy." A student caught improperly using any telecommunication device to take or transmit digital photographic images will face an immediate five-day suspension, loss of privileges, and may be recommended for expulsion. Taking or transmitting digital images during testing is also prohibited. If a student is caught transmitting digital images during testing, he will fail the exam and receive two to 10 days of Alternate Day Assignment or be suspended. He also faces automatic withdrawl from the class depending on the severity of the incident. Loss of privileges is an accompanying penalty, and expulsion is a possibility, even on the first offense.

Now this does not directly affect me as i dont have a cell phone camera. But i have a digital organizer, a palm zire71. It happens to have a built in camera. Im hearing that thats the next on the ban list. Why the fuck do they ban these things? My first period teacher says that in some colleges, not necesarily here, people were taking pics of people in locker rooms, up skirts etc. Holy shit, if it doesnt happen here, at least happen here often, why the fuck ban it. i HATE my schools administration more then anything. They just solve all problems by just making shit loads of rules upon rules. It pisses the students off, students still dtn follow them, and when students get caught for breaking these retarded rules, it just makes them hate this fucking hell hole even more. Well i have to go , class ends soon.

Well, I can see where they are paranoid in certain circumstances, but instead of banning them, they should just make a ridiculously harsh penalty for anyone that exploits its usage in the ways they deemed in that quote you have.

My school has banned any clothing that in any way depicts a band or musician. They say that type of clothing affiliates you with a certain group of people, therefore making you a gang. What a bunch of bullshit.

From what I hear, my high school has evolved quite nicely since I've last attended it 4 years ago. This is not an exageration either. They have over 100 cameras covering every angle inside the school and in the parking lots. Nothing more than the little logos over your heart that some shirts have is allowed (AKA, plain ass t-shirts). If you are absent more than 20 days, you aren't permitted to "graduate" to the next grade. I can't remember them all, and this was from what I've heard over a year ago, so I'm sure more paranoia has ensued.

BTW, the whole camera spleel is because when I went to high school we would literally have like 40 or so bomb scares a year, and after the whole Columbine incident happened my Senior Year (I believe it was then, or maybe Junior), they tightened the whole security 100 fold.

holy crap, im lucky i live in Canada eh. Nova Scotia has no problems. The High School I attend now was built like 4 years ago, a replacement of a school that was like 50 years old, still has same name. People at are school get suspended for smoking and stuff, and there is a ban on Cell phone usage, but people use them anywayz. We have like 15 cameras which were installed during construction, 6 computer labs, one has all new Dells, other five have old P2 IBMS (about 25 PC a lab), which people do stuff to sometimes, but no one really cares, something like 15 classes with 10+pc's, every teacher has a p4 dell, umm. Are school just has basic rules set by the school board, i guess i have it lucky.

Dude, your school is full of nazis, for the sake of the children i will avoid cursing but i would definately recomend the systematic elimination of your schools administration, and that rhymes so you know its right!

I throught most high school ban cell phone... when I enter my highschool it's banned when gradurated it still banned... not much new.
