4 Socketed Staves/Maces*

Ko + Vex + Pul + Thul

+3 To All Skills
+40% Faster Cast Rate

+75% Damage To Demons
+100 To Attack Rating Against Demons
Adds 3-14 Cold Damage, 3 sec. Duration (Normal)
7% Mana Stolen Per Hit
+10 To Dexterity
Replenish Life +20
Increase Maximum Mana 15%
All Resistances +30-40 (varies)

Level 4 Oak Sage (25 Charges)
Level 14 Raven (60 Charges)
+50% Damage To Undead

Is there anything better for a sorc than a Heart of the Oak anything? (say flail for example...)

Definatly dont use a staff, they are 2 handed weapons. You could easily use some one handed mace with 4 sockets in it to gain very good stats. If you can find an occulus the use that, its about the only thing that matches or beats it. Unless you want only res and mana in which case wizard spike is always a great choice.

Definetly a one-handed mace. Then you can even use it on other spellcasters if you want to. +3 to all skills for a necro in one hand is pretty good.

Yeah, pick a cool looking mace like a flail or a hammer.

maces and staves only so that means no sword

I only play ladder and I would still pick oculus beacuse it has the mf on it and vex rune is IMO harder to find then an oculus

How is the Oculus as good as Heart of the Oak?

The Oculus

+3 Sorceress To Skill Levels
+5 To Mana After Each Kill
All Resistances +20
25% Chance To Cast Level 1 Teleport When Struck
30% Faster Cast Rate
+20 To Vitality
+20 To Energy
+20% Enhanced Defense

50% Better Chance Of Getting Magic Items

Oak has 10% faster cast, max mana, and possible 40 res all. Now, I know 20vit and enhanced defense are nice, but how can they compare with 40 res all?

And yes, this would also be great for any pure casters.

Also, I don't like mf anymore. I don't mf normal monsters. I do runs like everybody else does... and... since the mf doesn't work on superuniques, why even have it on?

yeah I kinda keep forgetting that mf thingy
and the 25% chance of teleport on hit on oculus is a curse, the times I've died because of that...

U made a point and I think that ur right, but still 1 problem remains, getting those runes is fucked up even though they arent that high except for the vex rune. they are way overpriced on ladder

Occy > for mf, wizzy > overall..

wizzy has more res, more fcr, INSANE mana... no + skills is all that oak has on it.

Switching would be the best choice.

It doesn't have more mana than Heart of the Oak. Also, the extra resist and fast cast rate is nice, but what do you need resist for if you're doing jack shit for damage? +3 Skills is going to add a lot to skills if they're maxed (expecially now with synergies).

Speaking of which, does anybody have a program that shows damages with synergies for any classes? (I'm curious about the damages around the lvl 30 range.)

+ skills do NOT add to synergies.. but they do seem to add alot of damage anyway..

Wizzy, 15% MAX mana, and about +100 mana, i fi remember right...

This literally saves most sorcs, 100's of stat points.

Wizzy + shako = no pts in energy required.

Your wrong?

75% res, 50% fcr... about 300 mana, in total along with about a lvl 90 sorc, with shako...

Saving you, what, EVERY skill point which would have otherwise been in energy?

Giving you about 100 stat pts, 100x2.5 life, i dont remember, 250 life, AND res... ultimate for SvS

Chippydip's site.

Oak can be better, because you can't make up for the damage anywhere, PvM wise anyway.

In PvM, maxing Dex is just optional, so someone might not get her dex to 75 (saving 50 stats) for Wiz. Mana doesn't run out anyway even with base energy if one chooses to use Frostburn/Sojs and Shako...

PvP though, due to the constant teleporting, mana will become a more important issue than just dealing out max damage, so Wiz should be a better choice.
