Post Battle! Ness vs. Mog

Posted 2003-09-09, 06:15 AM
Arena: The Funhouse - A monstrous, abandoned yet inexplicably operational funhouse. Approximately the size of a hospital. Trap doors, mirror and glass mazes, light-based optical illusions. Overall one insanely sense-decieving experience. No exits.

In the Red Corner, weighing in at a little too much for his diminutive stature! Armed with his trusty Gutsy Bat, Yo-Yo, and enough psychokinetic power to level a military base! The pint-sized hero from Onett, Earth's Chosen Defender, star of EarthBound: Ness!!!

And in the Blue Corner, weighing in at 80 pounds (75 pounds plus 5 for that weird, red bon-bon thing on his head)! Equipped with a number of magical spells, and a set of dance moves that can simultaneously eradicate anything in sight and put Michael Jackson to shame! The slam-dancing, fast-talking Moogle of Mayhem from Final Fantasy 6: Mog!!!

Who will be the victor in this battle of short-fellows? Will the psychokinetic boy wonder steal the show? Or will lightning-fast dance moves bring about the young hero's downfall? As always, the choice is yours...

It's pretty simple to see that Ness would win.

Mog may be cool, but when it comes to a battle, what can he depend on?

Mog would probably try sending a few weak spells at Ness, only for them to be absorbed. Then, he might try attacking Ness with his puny little sword. Like that will do much...

Ness would nail Mog with his yoyo the second he got close enough, and if that wouldn't be enough, Mog would be pwned with his home run hitting baseball bat.

Batte = Done.

As uncapped so eloquently put it, Mog's weapons and skills are useless against Ness. Ness may be 14, but he certainly packs a psychokinetic punch. Imagine being electrocuted, sent flying through a wall, and then being crushed by an apartment complex. Then imagine you are dead, and you'll know how Mog feels.

You fools obviously never played Mog properly.

A Snow Muffler and Lightning Shield allow Mog to absorb most magical attacks, and his big honking spear is more than capable of doing some damage.

Mog's got speed, power, the sweetest dance moves, and Ness has a baseball bat and a yo-yo. Mog wins.

Ness would win. Ness can just go up in the air and yoyo mog. Mog can try to do spells but ness will easily avoid them and then appear behind mog and hit him with a bat. Dancing does nothing to help mog, and his puny spells are easily avoidable by someone with such great psychokinesis powers.

Mog's got a whole huge family though. Assuming they're already in the funhouse before the battle begins (how do they get in, anyway, with no exits?) they'd probably make it a battle of "Bugs Bunny vs. That Turtle Guy" proportions. "I just saw you over there! How'd you get in front of me!?" Ness 'd probably blame it on the mirrors or something, ensuring that at least a few Moogles can get off some decent spells (and do they have Espers equipped? Maybe not..)

And I wonder what one big massive Dance attack would do..?

(By the way, surely you remember the old Bugs Bunny cartoons where he was racing a turtle and the turtle called all his friends/family and confused the heck out of Bugs.. always appearing in front of him even though he'd staple the turtle onto a tree or something..)

I'm gunna have to go with Mog on this one...Yea Ness has teh bat and yo-yo, but Mogs dances can do some nifty shit, like heal him, or just drop rocks outta the sky...and as said before, Mogs spear isnt a puny assed weapon, and can do some massive damage...and If you really get bored, you can hook up Mog with some Espers...and never underestimate the power of that ball on his friggen head..KUPO!!

Agreed. Mog may not look like much alone. But you have to realize all characters in FF3 are basically the same. When properly equipped he can do some major damage. ULTIMA. Blam! No more Ness =(

Okay, I'm still waiting on both Titus and Shinto's decisions on this one. If I don't have them in about 12 hours, I'm going to decide the match by myself.

Titus also hasn't been updating the bracket, even though it doesn't get enough activity to matter.

I've already told you, if you are going to force people to debate to participate, not many people will. I just want to know who thinks who would beat who, I don't care why.

The point of this being a THREAD is so that people DO post why. That's why it's not just a daily poll on the main page. It's a thread for discussion. Don't ignore the purpose, it's not about what you care about anyway.

If it was the starting plan it wouldnt be called Zelaron Melee it would be Zelaron Popularity Contest.

Well, considering that our other two judges are M.I.A, I'm going to call this match on my own. Check the Bracket Thread for the winner announcement!
