The difference between furries and girls with animal ears is that girls with animal ears retain a human appearance and features of a human. That goes for elves or girls with pointy ears. Also animal ears are usually costume with their ears covered by their hair or they just aren't but either way their face does not have any animal-like features.

Felicia wouldnt be the best example of a furry, she looks more of a cosplayer.
