I can't believe how many views this thread has generated, over 1,000 with only 3 replies (now 4).
Regardless, I never did end up attempting this, I rather purchased a set of Polyurethane inserts and have them only half way completed, even after the first 3 the difference is amazing, shifting is smoother, rattle and vibrations are way, WAY down and the overall driving experience is much nicer. This may not ever be necessary for your car, but if you are getting up there in mileage, and start to get some of the symptoms, I'd definately recommend having it done.
