No, SQL is a programming language for querying and modifying data, and managing databases. A scripting language is a programming language that controls a software application.

Really? So that's the difference? Big woop! They're both languages that use words and brackets. Maybe my Mom misheard what the programmer said or the programmer actually said it. I don't really care, either way, I learned both Programming/Scripting languages.
