What's really fun is realizing that there's a huge amount of the universe that's completely invisible to us. Light has only been in transit for those 13.6 billion years, so multiply the speed of light by 13.6 billion years and you get the maximum viewable distance of the universe. There is potentially far far more lurking in the shadows, so to speak.
