If the event is a cutscene, just use a master event with one page, since it's just a big list of directions that way.
Then, if you want to change it, all instructions are in one place, and you don't have to worry about how it's going to affect all of the other events on the map. It's also a lot easier to figure out where things screw up - since events don't wait for each other, changing the timing of one event will force you to have to change the timing of all other active events. (Making someone fall an extra two spaces or something will change the timing of Wait commands, dialog boxes, sound effects, panning, etc - which might be in another event)
