I think the first example of a Perpetual Machine was a self-winding clock? Something to do with the hands going around that wound the clock...I don't know for sure. But it lasted a few hundred years before it finally stopped.
The energy will run out until we can find something that is 100% efficient. Until then, Perpetual Motion machines will always stop in the end.
Ok, that's true for what the technology is now. but that can change. at least they will run longer than they do now
. but what about harnessing an artificial black hole smaller than an electron, throw a whole bunch of stuff at it. it would then throw back a whole lot of energy; in nuclear form!
Then
it will be a perpetual machine(or whatever)! I think there is a recent article in the discover magazine about that. I'll have to find it.
