I've done it on greens without a priest, I just take a few mobs less. Having a holy specced priest with me makes it so much faster, though. I generally have no problem getting our holy-specced to come along, as he LOVES watching the light show I make whenever I go off on them. I did it in Uldaman at one point when my group got rushed by a bunch of regular mobs, it's massive DPS.
