It kind of depends on what you're after. I bought a cheap, plastic pad from
http://www.redoctane.com
, and it still works well. It doesn't have the same accuracy or durability as a real arcade pad, or a cobalt flux, but it's a *lot* cheaper, and it's great for workout. If you're planning to one day become good enough to full combo, maybe even AAA the hardest songs, you'll definitely want to get a Cobalt Flux.
