Depends.

If they are close friends, then I'm whatever they need me to be. If they need to talk, I'm open to talk, if they need some help, I'll be there to help. Basically, whatever they need, I'll be there for.

If they're dudes, but not-so-close friends, then we can play basketball. On occasion we might end up talking, but I don't think you're going to cry on my shoulder.

If you're a chick, then we can probably talk or whatever, and if you need a shoulder to cry on then whatever.
