I've gotta disagree on that one. It's certainly a
chivalrous
notion, but not an entirely realistic one. If I love a girl, am I supposed to take a second job and never attend college in order to help pay for her tuition? Am I supposed to sacrifice everything
I
need in order to fulfill the needs of the one I love?
Like I said, it's a noble thing to say, but life doesn't really work like that. You have to take care of your own corner
first
before you can start passing out help to others.
The extent to which you put the person's needs above your own depends on the type and extent of love; also consider that if she loved you in return, that she wouldn't let you do that because she cares about your need to attend collage. Also consider the mutual need for time together. In a one-sided love, the condition you express could certainly occur, but not if the love is mutual.
