Kind of off topic, but...

The games are called "Final Fantasy" because way back in the early 80's, squaresoft(before merging obviously) was a very small company competing with famcom(something like that) and the game "Final Fantasy (1)" was named that because it was really there last or Final Fantasy. They were practicaly going out of business, and if the game didn't sell, they would have been out of business. But they didn't, and know they stand were we know them today, one of the biggest Video game company in the world. So the name(and original game)really had a lot of meaning behind it. Just imagine relying on a game that would make or break a company.

Just something i felt like putting out there.

My source for this was a Official Playstation Magazine that is a couple years old. Sometime around the Spirits within film.
