WetWired 2002-10-22 01:20 PM

Just remember to upgrade your system BEFORE installing XP.

Mr.Lee 2002-10-22 02:14 PM

Hm.. why dont you check microsoft's homepage ?

Hades-Knight 2002-10-22 02:23 PM

check the box or the website,

i dont know fi i should download WInxp , im under a 700Mhz comp with built in motherboard card, 380+MB ram , not sure if i should or not, it crashes all the time

tacoX 2002-10-22 03:44 PM

Well, you can run XP on a fuckin 400mhz, and it still runs nice.....

I would say the req. is 64mhz for XP or so (I ahve windows 98 loaded in a 64mhz)

JohnnyTAE 2002-10-22 09:09 PM

I looked at the windows site and couldn't find anything, WW wut do I upgrade too?

tacoX 2002-10-23 06:31 AM

Some people suggest 2k for stability....

But I personally like XP alot more... its prett fast and much more stable ;)

WetWired 2002-10-23 06:40 AM

I'm just reminding you that XP doesn't like upgrades, so if you're planning any upgrades in the next 3 months or so, I suggest rescheduling them to now. As for sys req, I don't remember. I recommend 512M or RAM for sure.

Hades-Knight 2002-10-23 01:05 PM

My comp is:

20GB HD
380MB RAM
4x CD reader
Soem peice of shit CD-W
700Mhz
i only got like 3 GB HD left

woudl you recomend me getting xp?

JohnnyTAE 2002-10-23 09:53 PM

I don't have much ram like 184 :( and a shitty 400 processor

WetWired 2002-10-24 06:42 AM

The box says reccomended is 300Mhz, 128MB RAM or higher, with 800x600x8 or higher video equipment. The min is 266Mhz,64MB,800x600x8 video.

thanxz for the info, I may pick it up. Especially if certain costs don't come my way

Grav 2002-10-24 11:04 PM

The minimum I would recommend is 500mhz.. but you could pull with less I suppose.

XP home required my credit card number before it would let me run the shit and if you download upgrades it can charge myshit.............FUCK BILL

WetWired 2002-10-25 08:58 AM

XP Pro didn't require a credit card number.

Grav 2002-10-25 09:25 AM

My dad and I run XP Home (fuck it I'm not paying another $99 a copy), and we were never asked for a CC #.. and it's never had a problem with upgrades..
