My new article on Möbius transformations, Newton's method etc
https://link.springer.com/article/10...27-022-00112-4
Tl;dr: apparently there was an unknown deep connection between Möbius transformations (basically remapped versions of Lorentz transformations from special relativity), Newton's (relaxed) method and something called the polar derivative (something commonly used in complex analysis). Additionally, there seem to be connections from these mathematical objects to both Brownian motion (details here) and the Legendre polynomials from electrostatics. Not sure how this was missed for so long, but yw, lol |
