Battlestar Galactica (2004)
 

I began watching this on netflix last night and was wondering if anyone else is this hooked on this show. It's amazing. Strangely enough, it seems really really similar to the video game Escape Velocity Nova. If anyone has played it, the Cylons are like the Polaris. The ships even look really the same.

Just wanted some spoiler free discussion about this show.

Marathoned it at the end of last year - a very good series.

Where are you up to? Literally the first couple of episodes?

Never could get into it and I HATED the ending.

Haven't watched it yet.

Started watching Lost, seems long enough to last until Walking Dead/Breaking Bad comes back.

Yes, literally the first few episodes. As I write this Netflix is loading up episode 4.

I loved Battlestar Gallactica; now there's a show that stands the test of time.

This is driving me insane :P it's such a good show. It is terrible trying to actually go to sleep at night. I just wanna keep watching them.

The one thing I didn't like was how Count Baltar was always able smooth talk the Cylon emperor and keep his command. The series deserved a better villan.

SHHHH!!!! I don't know who those people are yet. I'm on the first season. The really early bits of it.

Almost every episode seems to end with this...

To me so far there is no cylon emperor. They only just made the Cylon detector that is corrupt.

At the end of the first or second episode, Count Baltar the traitor convinces the Cylon emperor to spare his life and give him command of a base star because he understands how humans think and will be better able to defeat them.

No idea why I didn't notice that.....

Are you talking about the original series, WW? Because Asamin is watching the 2004 remake...

Because no one's called the emperor or a count. I mean, there are people who act in those roles but not exactly that.

I'm talking about Battlestar Galactica, which aired in 1978.

Yeah I am watching the 2003 remake. Netflix doesn't have the other one..... did you know that Google chrome recognizes Netflix as a word?

"Britches" is a word, too, to my surprise.

Can anyone spare me the google search for why the remake has season 1, 2.0, 2.5 and so on. Why not just season 1 2 3 4 5 6?

Writers guild strike, probably.
