How to introduce yourself in a group?

how do u introduce yourself?....say Hi my name is ...... and then say what my current status...i.e just finished college and then what else?
is that enough or too short?

Show up to them in the middle of gym class (make sure you're wearing a white shirt) and open the conversation with "This shirt was black when I got it." One of my best friends of all time, I ment saying that to him.
